Saying Goodbye
by Caryn Ross on 06. Jan, 2011 in Blog, Uncategorized
Well it is Monday morning and I am sad. You see, my Traverse is back with Mark Heitz and I am back in my car. I reached for the keys this morning and thought to myself, “time to get it pre-warmed.” Well, that is not a feature my car currently offers. Then when I got in my seats were cold. Kind of a sad start to this chilly Monday morning. I can honestly say, I miss my Traverse.
Coming into this experience I was an import only kind of girl. I have had domestic cars but they lacked the flash and pizazz that this Traverse offered. I was so stunned to see that FINALLY an American made car had everything I desired! My favorite feature was the ability to pre start the car from the warm confines of my house, all the room inside and then the smooth ride. I was AMAZED at how beautifully this car ran. It was a cloud. Then when I had to haul kids there was no climbing over seats. Plenty of room for everyone and then all of their junk.
During my Traverse journey many friends were interested in peeking inside. They too were amazed at the roominess. Then when I showed them all the features they were fired up. Of course their next question was, “how much?” When I told them the sticker price they were floored. Truly this is a no-brainer if you are in need of a roomy, fully loaded and smooth riding cross over. I am so in love with it I am trying to get my husband to get one to keep in Florida next to the boat! If that is not a glowing endorsement, I do not know what is…..
Thank you again to Chevrolet and Mark Heitz Chevrolet for setting me up in this great Traverse. I had a blast taking it through its various missions. Not to mention, I appreciate all of your help whenever I had a question! Your service is superior and your people were all so kind and willing to help at a drop of a hat! Your dealership is one of a kind!
Chevy Traverse-My final post, what I liked and disliked

Yesterday I had to return the Chevy Traverse to its rightful owners..Eskridge Chevrolet in Guthrie. I drove it for the past month and I miss it already. No joke. Seriously miss it.
Here are some things that I liked and disliked about the Traverse, in no particular order: (more…)
One Rockin Momma

Ok…I am here again to say that I am in complete awe of technology. Can you believe how far we have come in the last 40 years? I was born in the 70′s and I can remember the 8 track era, cassette players, cd’s and now the digital revolution of mp3.
Needless to say the biggest change has been in how our cars can handle this constant change. I remember the day of having to put in new stereos into a car dash. Not anymore. New cars are coming with better and better technology to handle all of our tune needs.
As if you had not noticed, I have been driving a Chevy Traverse for the last month. It has been my mission to check it out from bumper to bumper and give my honest opinion. Well, this time it was to figure out how to play some of my rockin tunes using an mp3. It is a piece of cake! I plugged in my iPhone and it immediately picked it up and I was rock a star mommy in moments. My kids got to really see what I love to listen to. You see, I may be almost 40 but this momma is a metal head! I love me some Metallica, Aerosmith, Ozzy, and Linkin Park. Since this is so easy to use, I encourage everyone to plug in and rip the knob off!! Rock on!

I am in South Florida enjoying a warm and blessed holiday with my family! The only sad part to this awesome vacation is that I really miss the Traverse!
All of its features, storage and driving ease are all missing from my current ride. In fact, my husband even said he missed the Traverse! That is the ultimate compliment. You see, he loves imports and just the thought he would like this Chevy has blown my mind.
So, with all of this said, I can’t wait to get home and drive my baby a few more days before it has to go back to Mark Heitz. This whole experience has really made me look at Chevy’s a whole lot different!
Ps..have I mentioned that it has the warmest seats ever. When I get out I have the warmest tush in town!
Roadtrips with kids
by Britta Fleeson on 28. Dec, 2010 in Blog, Featured Bloggers
We’ve had to make many trips this past year for Ashers treatment. Five trips to Indiana to be exact. Hours of driving and being stuck in a car. Most trips we took involved 4 people. My daughters, Asher and I. Between the four of us 3 own active cellphones, 1 owns a pretend cell phone.
Going on long car trips requires us to keep our phones charged and one thing that annoyed me during our adventures was the constant plugging and unplugging of the cell phone chargers into the outlet because my car only has one. Chevy sure had families like us in mind when they designed the Traverse. So far i’ve found three outlets to plug cell phone chargers in. I think there might be more hidden..it’s like a scavenger hunt. I should read the manual again. Do you realize how much easier our trips would have been if I owned the Traverse at that time? A lot easier.
Something else I am really impressed with is the gas mileage. The Traverse averages 24 mpg on the highway. Looking at how much space this car offers it amazes me for it to be so fuel efficient. This is VERY important to us, specially with the fuel prices nowadays. These trips are not cheap.
The entertainment options are endless. Regular AM/FM radio, XM radio and on top of it all I discovered a USB plugin in the compartment in the dashboard. Can you guess what it’s for? I use it a lot to charge my phone but you can also plug in your Ipod, Itouch etc. I can control the media device with the buttons on the steering wheel! Search playlists, play a song…So tell me Chevy, what have you not thought of? I’m still trying to find that one feature that i’m missing, so far i’ve been unsuccessful. I’m gonna miss this car so much when I have to return it on Wednesday. They always say time flies when you are having fun, I can’t believe it’s been almost a month.
Pedi Please
by Caryn Ross on 26. Dec, 2010 in Blog, Uncategorized, video, videos
Oh my goodness….I just looked down at my feet in the shower and just about fell over. Are those really mine? Didn’t I just get a pedicure last week? Then I stop for a moment and think back. No, I think the last time my piggies got a buffed and polished might have been before Thanksgiving….Oh my….that explains the reason they look as if they might be more comfortable on the foot of a horse.
http://www.vimeo.com/18048419As my day goes on, I am thinking of my sweet feet and how nice a pedicure sounds but frankly carving some time in my day during this so busy season seems a little bit nuts. Now, comes the best part….I remember the words of my oh so sweet sales guy at Mark Heitz. He told me to press the ONSTAR button and they could direct me anywhere. This seemed like a message from above so I pressed that magic button and proceeded to get directions to the CLOSEST nail salon to my house. I loved this feature.!! She was so nice and even offered to download driving directions straight to my Traverse! Now is that service or what??
This mama is going to STOP and take care of herself right now! I promise my feet will be so much happier and might even feel like taking me around without complain for the rest of this holiday week. Sounds like a perfect deal to me!
So many features, so little time
by Valerie on 23. Dec, 2010 in Blog, Uncategorized
Wow, this car is blowing my mind! First of all, it’s been a brisk 30 degrees most mornings in Edmond, Oklahoma. So what do I do? Start my car, remotely, from the comfort of my cozy house, about 10 minutes prior to leaving. Once I get in the only cold air I feel is from the walk from my house to the car door. Once inside, the Traverse has detected the winter air and heated up my ride to a nice 80 degrees. The best part? The seats are already heated up too, keeping my bum nice and toasty! My body doesn’t even know we are in the middle of December when I am driving around town!
Secondly, because I own a growing business, the first thing I typically do once on the road (dangerous, I know) is make tons of return phone calls. Well, in the Traverse, I’m no longer a hazzard on the road! I love the hands-free blue tooth! The clarity is amazing both for myself and those I call. I had been using my speaker phone on my Blackberry but found it hard to hear once on the highway. Not the case with my new love – the Blue Tooth. I don’t know how I will give this feature up on December 29th!
Lastly, but not leastly, I have used the heck out of my On Star Navigation. So much so that I have considered sending my advisor a Christmas card. I probably push that little blue button 5-6 times per day. My business keeps me on the go and it’s been so lovely not to have to pre-print my directions or type them into my, what now feels ancient, GPS. I just call into my sweet sounding advisor, tell her/him where I need to go and BOOM – downloaded to my car!
Seriously, driving this Traverse has made my hectic weeks way more manageable!
Cellphones and Cars
by Caryn Ross on 22. Dec, 2010 in Blog, Featured Bloggers, Uncategorized
This week as I have been dashing from spot to spot, I paused for a moment and thought to myself, What in the world did we do before cell phones? How did families function? How did business’s get things done? I am sometimes amazed at all of the technology we have available to us.Cell phones sure make my life so much easier. To know that if my husband calls to tell me something is leaking, that I can that moment pickup my phone and call the plumber is such a relief! I am able to micro manage my life right from the comforts of my car.
One of my favorite things this month is that I have gotten the privilege to drive the Chevy Traverse. One of the best features of this car is that it is LOADED with technology. Chevy has really done a super job of making us safer with our phones. You see, they have made it where we never have to fumble in a panic for our phones while trying to drive. It is all done from the dash and steering wheel of your car. Now is that nifty or what? Thank you so much Chevy! You have now made my December so much more efficient and goodness knows that is a mothers best gift ever.
I just had to share this cool feature…

You all know that I’m the grandma of Asher, a young grandma i might add, but there is one thing you don’t know about me. I have a major huge dislike for minivans, I like the roominess of minivans but dislike the overall look of them. I can assure you if you ever run into me you will see me driving some vehicle that looks stylish, goes fast and is just plain cool to drive. I’m not talking sportscars, they are just not reasonable in this household. With the evergrowing family of ours the biggest problem we’ve encountered is having enough room for everyone and everything.
This is one of the major reasons I fell in love as soon as I started test driving the Traverse. It’s a match made in heaven, for us. It looks sleek, it’s roomy, the ride is smoother than my sporty sedan and the gas mileage is just as good as my own car. There are a few huge differences between my “used to be cool” car and the Traverse. The features. Oh my. So many features. (more…)
